You were so good your first night out of the hospital! Mom swaddled you up tight in the swaddle blanket the hospital gave you and you slept like a champ! You did NOT like being woken up after only four hours in order to eat - Mom began to suspect that she had a very sound sleeper on her hands!
Kyra's brother Zach Neipp and his wife Emily came to see you and brought you a super-cute Sunday church outfit!
You also had your very first check up scheduled for today, back in Oakland, at the clinic next to the hospital. We were kinda surprised it was so soon, but just went with it. When we got there we were so glad to see Dr. Tristan - who had been your NICU doctor the whole time you were there! This time we made sure we got pictures.
You were extremely well-behaved during your check-up, as usual.
After the doctor appointment Mommy had to spend a long time talking with the secretaries about insurance coverage, and you got pretty cranky. She was so tired, and this nice man noticed that your carseat was super-heavy, and offered to carry you down the two flights of stairs for Mommy. He was from Africa, and gave Mommy a business card so she could get a CD of lullabies from him. He was so happy to hear you were adopted, and kept saying "God bless you!" and "It's a wonderful thing!"
Mom also stopped by the hospital to get a copy of the AD-22 document from the social worker, which had been forgotten in the rush to leave the hospital yesterday. This time she made sure she took pictures of the hallways that we had paced so many long hours in.
And that evening we went to see the show that Liz was directing at Leigh High School - "Cats." You slept through most of it in Mommy's arms, but your exposure to Broadway fabulousness began at 3 weeks old, kiddo!
